April 8: Woke up early ate some granola that we had bought at the Old Country Market (soy milk carton from home) for breakfast and set out with a plan!
We first hiked the Lighthouse Loop on the Wild Pacific Trail. A 2.6 km loop, it was slightly cool and rainy and there were not many people on this trail. The water was hitting the rocks and it was a wonderful sight to see! While walking the trail you can hear a sound from the light house. It almost sounds quite calming. We were able to walk up to the light house and read a little bit about it.
After our hike, we grabbed some lunch at Ukee Dogs where we had vegan hot dogs and kombucha! We walked around the area, there were some pretty cool paintings!
Ten went to hike the rest of the Wild Pacific Trail – Artists Loop. Took us about 2 hours to complete because we kept stopping to admire the ocean! Once again not too many people on this trail, the sea and scenery was breath taking, there was even a storm watching deck! There were many places to sit if you were feeling tired along the way.
After our hike we visited Chesterman Beach in Tofino for an hour, it was getting cold and started to get dark.
We said our bye byes to beautiful Ucluelet and Tofino and drove to Port Alberni where we stayed at the Redford Motel after eating pizza for dinner.
The next day we woke up late and drove back at a leisurely pace to the ferry terminal to head back to Vancouver!
April 10: H and I drove down south to Washington state. We visited a friend in Seattle and then went to the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival! By the time we finished up it was quite late, so we ate at a nearby Thai food place (with vegan dessert nearby, forgot the name) and drove back home to Surrey late in the night.
April 11: Unfortunately it was RAINING the whole day but we decided to visit Capilano Suspension Bridge. Made for some funny photos with the green poncho…were we trying to blend in with the trees? 🙂
We were so cold and soaking wet, we needed hot food right away! Thank goodness for The Workshop Vegetarian Cafe! Delicious hot Ramen soup and pizza toast was perfect! We were too hungry and cold to take photos 🙂
We went home after this and had a long snooze!
April 12: I wanted to show my friend the cherry blossoms in Vancouver but where could we have fit it in?? We were in for a surprise because we found a whole street filled with cherry blossoms while driving to the airport! We just had to stop and click photos!
As we said our see you laters at the airport, I was so so happy that we made some wonderful priceless memories together 🙂 ❤
I look forward to the next set of adventures with my friend very very soon!!
